Western Sahara Action Forum (WSAF) runs an annual campaign (now twice a year) to ensure the UN Security Council acts to fulfil its responsibility to supervise a free and fair referendum that will allow the Saharawi people to express their inalienable right to self-determination.
With the now biannual renewal of MINURSO’s mandate in April and October each year, we work together with WSAF to make a call on the UN peacekeeping force to keep the peace by protecting the Saharawis from human rights abuses. The arrival of a new Secretary General and a new Special Envoy to Western Sahara (and another soon to be appointed), there has been and continues to be an opportunity to bring this shameful chapter in the UN’s history to an end.

The Western Sahara Campaign works in solidarity with the Saharawi people to generate political support in order to advance their right to self-determination and to promote their human rights.
Our role is to lobby the UK Government and the EU. You can help us to ensure the UK does not ignore the voice of the Saharawi people.
